When visiting a person's grave - whether at the end of the 'Shiva', the 'Shloshim', the year, or on the anniversary of the person's death (Yahrzeit), it is traditional to hold a ceremony. This ceremony typically includes recitation of chapters of Psalms, the 'Mourner's Kaddish' (if there is a minyan of men present), prayers on behalf of the deceased, as well as sermons and personal memories, according to the desire of the family. If you wish, you may abbreviate the ceremony through minimizing the amount of Psalms which are said. It is encouraged to share memories, poetry, or readings during the ceremony in order to personalize it and make it more meaningful for the participants.
Currently, you can create a ceremony in Hebrew for visiting the grave according to the name of your loved one, and in his or her memory. Follow these steps:
1. As you read, choose sources that you wish to include in the ceremony.
2. After each source that you chose to include mark on the chart 'Add a Paragraph'
3. When finished reading, click on the button 'Create My Own Ceremony'.
4. Send the prepared ceremony to your own e-mail address so that you can then add titles, sources, and personal details, making it as short or as detailed as you wish.
5. Print and photocopy the completed document for those people who will be present at the ceremony.
